Simon Carr – PADI / SDI Instructor, ASSET  Technician

Simon is a PADI and SDI instructor Open Water Scuba Instructor. He can also teach Enriched Air Nitrox, Digital Underwater Photography and Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty courses. He is also a qualified ASSET scuba technician who services and maintains all our equipment.

Simon learned to dive in a swimming pool in the UK followed by a trip to Zanzibar. It wasn’t until nearly 2 years later that he discovered his love for the marine world when he volunteered on a marine conservation project in Mexico. Here Simon developed his interest for wildlife, studying and working with sea turtles and birds as well as the Caribbean reef fish.

Since then Simon has been diving all over Central America and in Spain, before moving to Asia 2 years ago.As well as diving, Simon enjoys boardsports, photography, and generally being outdoors.

Aitor Campos – PADI OWSI Instructor

Aitor from Barcelona, has now spent 3 seasons diving on Koh Lipe. He has an excellent knowledge of the dive sites and local marine life – he´s particularly fond of our more ugly creatures such as stonefish and frogfish.

Other than diving Aitors passions are mainly food related, so he´s great for tips on where to eat on Koh Lipe.

Sara Menedez – PADI OWSI Instructor, Deep, Wreck, Drift, EAN Nitrox Specialty Instructor

Sara is from Asturias, but has travelled widely and dived in many beautiful places. We are thankful she has decided to return to Castaway for a 2nd year. As well as scuba diving, Sara also loves to free dive. She´s fast to smile and with an infectious laugh she´s always a pleasure to be around.

Nu – 1st Captain

Nu is our number 1 Captain; a Chow Ley born on Koh Lanta, he moved to Koh Lipe with his mother when he was still a baby. As a former Chow Ley diver  he knows the waters of Tarutao marine park very well.
